How to dub a video with AI

  1. 1Drop a video or audio file of up to 5 minutes (MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3 and more). The tool checks its length and shows the credit cost.
  2. 2Choose the language to dub into, and optionally the original language (otherwise it is detected).
  3. 3Tick the box confirming you have the rights to this content, sign in, and click Dub.
  4. 4Keep the page open while it works, usually a few minutes. Then watch the result and download the dubbed file.

How AI dubbing works

AI dubbing chains several steps that used to need a studio. ElevenLabs separates the voices from the background sound, transcribes what each speaker says, translates it, and then speaks the translation with a voice matched to the original speaker before mixing it back over the music and effects. The result is video dubbing that keeps the feel of the original, which is why this kind of ai voice translation has become popular for YouTube channels, courses and ads.

This tool is built for short clips: up to five minutes per file for now. It is billed per started minute of the source, with the exact credit cost shown before you start, and if the dub fails the credits are refunded automatically. Processing usually takes a few minutes; the page checks on progress and shows the finished video with a download button.

To dub video into another language well, start with clean audio: one person speaking at a time and little background noise gives the most natural result. Names and specialist terms may be pronounced unexpectedly, so review the dub before publishing.

You must own the content or have permission to dub it, including permission from the people whose voices you translate. The file is sent to ElevenLabs to create the dub and is not kept by ToolDash. If you only need text, translate video audio into subtitles instead with the AI Subtitle Generator and the AI Subtitle Translator.
