Merge PDF Files

Add two or more PDFs, drag them into the right order and merge them into a single file. You can pick page ranges from each one, and the PDF merger works entirely in your browser.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded
  • Instant results, no waiting on a server

Add two or more PDFs, drag them into the order you want, and merge them into one file. Optionally pick page ranges from each. The files are combined in your browser and never uploaded.

How to merge PDF files

  1. 1Drag your PDFs onto the PDF files area, or click it to choose them. Each file appears as a card with a preview of its first page and its page count.
  2. 2Drag the cards into the order you want, or use the arrows on each card. Remove a file with the cross.
  3. 3To use only some pages from a file, type them in its box, for example 1-3, 7. Leave the box empty to take every page.
  4. 4Click Merge PDFs. The combined file downloads as merged.pdf, and the footer shows how many pages and files went into it.

How the PDF merger works

A PDF is a collection of pages plus the resources they use, such as fonts and images. To merge PDF documents, a tool copies each page you choose, along with what it needs, into a new document in the order you set. The pages are copied as they are, not redrawn, so text stays selectable and searchable, vector graphics stay sharp, and nothing is converted to a picture.

Because this PDF combiner runs in your browser, the files you add are never sent anywhere. Contracts, invoices and scanned IDs are read by a library running inside your tab and written back out as a new file. That is why there are no upload limits, queues or sign-ups, and you can merge PDF files for free as often as you like. The only limit is your device's memory, which handles ordinary documents of hundreds of pages without trouble.

The previews are only there to help you recognise each file; they are drawn on demand as you scroll. Page ranges are useful when you only need part of a document, such as the signed last page of a contract, and they accept lists such as 1-3, 7 or an open end like 5-. The page order you type is the order used, so a range can also rearrange pages.

One limit to know: PDFs that need a password to open or edit can't be merged here, because the tool must be able to read their pages. If you see a password message, open the file in a PDF viewer with the password, save or print it to a new PDF, and add that copy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I merge PDF files for free?

+

Add them to the tool, put them in order and click Merge PDFs. There is no cost, sign-up or watermark, and the files stay on your device.

Can I choose which pages to include?

+

Yes. Type a page range such as 1-3, 7 in the box on a file's card. Leave it empty to use all of its pages.

Does merging reduce quality?

+

No. Pages are copied into the new file as they are, so text, images and vector graphics are unchanged.

Why won't my PDF merge?

+

Password-protected PDFs can't be read by the tool. Remove the password by opening the file in a viewer and saving or printing it to a new PDF, then add that copy.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

+

No. They are combined in your browser and never sent to a server.
