Privacy Policy

Short version: the data you put into our tools stays on your device, except the subtitle text you choose to send to the AI Subtitle Translator. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages get visited, and that's it.

Data you enter into tools

ToolDash tools run client-side, in your browser. Text you paste, files you drop and values you generate are processed on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. The one exception is the AI Subtitle Translator, described below.

AI Subtitle Translator

When you click Translate, the subtitle file you chose is sent to our server. The server checks that it is a subtitle file and sends the text of each cue (not the timestamps) to Anthropic's Claude API, which returns the translation. We don't store the file or the translation. Anthropic processes the text under its privacy policy. To limit abuse, the server keeps your IP address in memory for rate limiting (it is not logged or saved), and the page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser to tell people from bots. Don't translate subtitles that contain information you aren't allowed to share with a third party.

Information stored in your browser

Some tools remember things between visits using your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings:

  • Your light or dark theme preference and recent searches.
  • The Password Generator's recent history (your last five generated passwords), which you can clear with the Clear button.
  • The QR Code Generator's recent codes, the SQLite Viewer's query history and layout, and the SVG Sprite Generator's saved library.
  • The AI Subtitle Translator's last target language.
  • The speech model files Audio to Text downloads from Hugging Face, kept in your browser's cache so they aren't downloaded again. Your recordings and transcripts are not stored.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device types they use. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as your IP address, browser and pages viewed. It does not receive the content you enter into tools. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

We may display ads served by Google AdSense to keep the tools free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings.

Children

ToolDash is a site for developers and is not directed at children under 13.

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
